Welcome to California Women for Agriculture
CWA's basic role is to help its members develop the knowledge and skills necessary to convey the mutual benefits of a vibrant agricultural economy and healthy rural communities to those who are in positions to impact the future of agriculture in California.
We invite you to visit us or attend an event. Our members are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the organization and how you can join.
Animal Issues in the State of California
That is the buzz word in agriculture these days. It appears as though agriculturalists have accepted farms being described as sustainable, local and fresh. However, we haven’t quite been able to put our fingers on what awareness looks like and how we share it. According to the California Farmer magazine, farmers need to tell their stories, even if its in the coffee shop.Crop Protection / Pest Management
Since the discovery of the European grapevine moth, Lobesia botrana, last month in Napa County, local agricultural officials have been working with the USDA, the California Department of Food and Agriculture and industry groups to better understand this invasive pest and how best to respond to this latest threat to the state’s grape industry and other fruit producers.Survey on off-road equipment could influence regulation

Water Watch Statewide Meeting
Hello CWA members, as you all know money and water are the key issues facing our state at the moment. The state legislature adjourned late last night (9/11) without a plan to address either the economic crisis or the water crisis. (Ironic this colossal failure took place on this tragic day in our nation’s history.) Our legislature’s inability to lead our state out of crisis is something we all need to be concerned about. In the days ahead, the Governor is expected to call a special session to address the water crisis, please watch the internet closely for updates.Click to read more...
